“Women, female, feminine…. show me what those words mean to you.”

As you may have deduced from the quote above, the Sinful Sunday prompt for this month is ‘All About the Women’. I had a number of ideas for this brief but, in the end, I decided to shoot a picture that reflected facets of me, Jane, and my own personal femininity.

A woman who likes to wear pearls (of all kinds).

A woman who likes to wear skirts and twin-sets (often with something a little less traditional underneath).

A woman who is, well, a woman despite her boyish shape.

*The picture above is M’s favourite shot from a triptych I created for this prompt (and thus is my ‘official’ entry). However, I have included all three triptych photographs below (you can click on the collage to see it at full size) as I do kind of like the way the images ‘speak’ to each other when placed together.

  1. I love the triptych, I think the middle shot in particular is very interesting. The combination of the pearls and the open cardigan and the way you are reclined slightly, as if waiting for someone to come and deflower you of your primness.

However the top shot is just perfect too, the combination of prim and proper lady on the outside shrouding the darker woman beneath is just perfection

  3. Beautiul, sensual shots. The composition when viewed together, at full size, seems almost to tell a story. There’s a certain symmetry that we find very appealing. Additionally your words lend the photos a certain gravity. Very empowering and feminine.

    • :-) It’s my favourite. The pattern is Belle Fiore and I picked up this cup and saucer, together with some other matching ones, at a car boot sale. (Ten quid for a set of tea cups seemed like a bit a of a bargain to me!)

  4. I love collage and you use it so well here … the contrast of the two sides of your femininity { “A woman who likes to wear skirts and twin-sets (often with something a little less traditional underneath”) .. is one that has my mind in a whirl of possibilities ! MarQe x

  6. These are all great shots telling a story, the top one did capture my attention the most as well! For me it was the “proper” and very upright stance of your body with the cup and saucer balance primly on your knee with the naughty pasties on your nipples!

  7. This is fantastic.

I feel the storyline of a lady inviting the villagers of a picture postcard respectable village to tea. Only to have an afternoon of seduction! ;-)

  8. Oh my gosh this is a beautiful picture. The pearls, the tassles . . . and the teacup-pose on your lap . . . and the picture colour. I love it !!! All so dainty and feminine . . . and sensual and arousing. Just beautiful!

  9. Just prefect! I love the photo you chose but am also a fan of the cardigan shot. The color and lighting and the way you are sitting makes it seem like they were really taken 100 years ago. Really clever and lovely!
