I’m not sure that this photograph is particularly good from a technical perspective – the focus is a little bit out – but I kind of like it. I think it’s because I’m able to see the inside of the cane: the rattan’s structure and the way the tubular fibres sit so snugly next to one another. Looking at them like this, in cross section, it’s hard to believe they could pack much of a punch – ye gads do they ever, though!

Foil-encased condoms always remind me of After Eight chocolates (or fancy herbal teabags) and these Mates Skyns in particular, with their dark backgrounds and gold lettering, are remarkably similar to this iconic Seventies dinner-party staple. You could very easily slip some into a box and offer them round to your guests after pudding … You know, just to keep the conversation interesting … (Hey, Lizzie’s oral sex mints came out in this context and it certainly created some chatter!)

Anyway, now I’ve got to work out what to do with all these beasties post-pic as I’m not exactly a massive fan of sweet things (cheese all the way). I didn’t think this one out very well, did I? The condoms? Oh, don’t worry – they will definitely get used.

Some of you may have seen my post from Sunday commemorating my ex-colleague and friend, Steve, who passed away last week as a result of cancer. Needless to say, it was a very sad and emotional weekend.

But, thanks to a package that arrived at my door, I finally managed to crack a much-needed grin. Four Smile Makers fantasy man vibrators rode to my rescue, their cuteness and hilarious on-pack copy sending me into a much-needed fit of giggles.

The Eroticon schedule for 2013 has now been published.

Taking place in London on Saturday 2 March and Sunday 3 March, this conference brings together sex writers and bloggers from the U.K. and abroad, and is a great way to learn something new and network with other like-minded individuals.

I’m particularly excited to see the following people on the ‘speaker’ list: sex blogger Molly Moore (NSFW), who I think is just fabulous; erotica writer and editor, Rachel Kramer Bussel; and the creator of Toy with me Tuesday, Nymphomaniac Ness.

Happy 2013, everyone!

First post back after the break and it’s Toy with me Tuesday. What a nice way to start the year!

So I bought Truth or Dare for my husband as a Christmas present. It was a bit of a stab in the dark – I wasn’t sure what the ‘truth’ and ‘dare’ cards would be like and whether they would suit us – but the game turned out to be a lot of fun, despite that fact that we only got to play once over the holidays.
