Slightly after Sunday midnight, but I hope Molly won’t mind! The theme for this week’s Sinful Sunday is macro shots. I took the below picture some time ago while playing around with the idea of nipples being called ‘berries’ in (what seemed like) every second erotic book I was reading. And that lead to the idea of clamping them … I know it’s not a ‘true’ macro (I don’t have macro lens) but – I hope! – it’s close enough to pass the doorman.

From tweezers to clovers: a rough guide to nipple clamps
If you’ve been rummaging around in the Chintz Toy Box, you may remember that last year, Thomas and Lizzie reviewed a set of Squeezer Teaser nipple clamps. Low and behold, that post has gone on to become one the most popular and visited on Behind the Chintz Curtain and, even weeks and months after its publication, it continues to draw readers on a regular basis. It seems there’s a definite appetite to know more about the practice of nipple clamping – the various clamp styles, how they’re used, the pros and cons of the different designs out there, and the sensations they create.
How intense are they? Are they easy to get on? What happens, exactly, when you take them off?
To that end, I’ve asked the pair of them to put together a quick ‘n’ dirty overview of their clamping experiences, discussing their perceptions of the sensations clamps generate, and a breakdown of the benefits and hindrances of the various styles on offer.
IMPORTANT: This isn’t a ‘how to’ guide. If you think clamping is something you’d like to try, please make sure you do your homework and are aware of the risks involved/understand how to apply clamps safely. Please also take the time to read the Behind the Chintz Curtain disclaimer.
Sensation
Lizzie
First off, let me say this: clamping won’t be for everyone. To use the old flavouring analogy (although I’ll avoid the term ‘vanilla’) it’s all a matter of taste. For me, personally? I find that having my nipples clamped incredibly erotic and the sensation of compression a huge turn on. Bluntly, I get aroused by the pain they generate – the hit when they go on, the ache they generate once applied, and the devilish throb that kicks in when they come off. Some of the more intense styles also leave me feeling incredibly sensitive after removal and there is nothing nicer, I think, than experiencing the brush of clothing, or lips, or fingers a day or two later and being reminded of what Thomas and I did together to make them that way. Mawa Klamps: serious pressure for nipples and other body parts
What we used: Mawa Klamps
From: UberKinky
Price: £2.99 per clamp (discounts available for multibuys)
Material(s): metal (unspecified), rubber (unspecified)
If you’re serious about your nipple play, then these sprung Mawa Klamps may be just the thing. As Lizzie and Thomas discover, they’re certainly not for the faint of heart – and they’re not just for the top half of the body …
First thoughts …
Lizzie
If you’ve been following Chintz for a while, you’ll know that Thomas and I recently reviewed a set of Japanese clover nipple clamps and that I’m a big, big fan of them (and clamping in general). So when UberKinky asked if we’d like to review their Mawa Klamps, I was pretty keen. However, when I put these little beasts on the tips of my fingers after extracting them from their wrappings and felt how strong they were, I started to get a bit nervous! Continue reading
Toy with me Tuesday: Autumn berries
Every week, on a Tuesday, there’s a bit of an online event. It’s called Toy with Me Tuesday and it’s run by the blog Notes From the Nymphomaniac Ness. The premise is simple – cheeky and clever photographs of sex toys that both demystify and normalise them. What could be more fun! Continue reading
C is for clitoris, C is for clip
What we used: Clitoral clip/clitoral clamp
From: Sh! Women’s Erotic Emporium
Price: £6.00
Material(s): metal (unspecified), fabric (unspecified), plastic (unspecified)
Earlier this week, we reviewed Japanese clover nipple clamps. Today, Lizzie ventures below the waist with a clit clip from Sh! Women’s Erotic Emporium.
First impressions …
Lizzie
As you probably gathered from my last Toy Box post, I particularly enjoy the sensation of clamped nipples, so taking things a little lower was a logical progression for me. I also quite like the idea of clitoral decoration but am too much of a chicken to get anything pierced, so a clit clip seemed like a nice compromise.
This particular clip is an own-brand item from Sh! Women’s Erotic Emporium and arrives without an extraneous branding; the packaging is simple, utilitarian and, accordingly, female-friendly. (Unlike the clover clamps I reviewed recently, there’s no porn star displaying the clip in a raunchy pose, or laugh-out-loud back-of-box-copy talking about ‘excitement areas’.)
The clit clamp itself is very simple in design – a 6.5 centimetre (2.56 inch) metal clip that looks very much like an oversized hairpin with two strings of pink plastic beads, each measuring 4 centimetres (1.57 inches) attached to its looped ends. It’s very unintimidating, to be perfectly frank – no springs, screws or sliding parts – and looks like something you’d keep in your jewellery rather than your toy box. Weight-wise, the clit clip is very light, tipping the scales at a mere three grams, so there’s no need to worry that you’re going to be trying to accommodate something the size of a Christmas decoration between your legs. Squeeze. Tease. The agony and ecstasy of nipple clamps
What we used: Squeezer Teaser clover nipple clamps
From: Lovehoney
Price: £7.99
Material(s): metal (unspecified) and nylon
Intrigued by nipple clamps but not sure if they’re for you? Lizzie gives her opinion of You2Toys’ Squeezer Teaser clover clamps.
*This post is NSFW (not suitable for work) as it does contain an image of a bare breast and a nipple (shock horror). If you choose to read on, please take the time to peruse the Behind the Chintz Curtain disclaimer before doing so.
First thoughts …
Lizzie
I’m quite a fan of nipple clamps but I’ve always had a bit of a thing for the pleasure/pain dynamic, so I guess that shouldn’t be a surprise to me. However, this is the first set of Japanese clovers or ‘butterfly’ clamps that I’ve tried – previously, Thomas and I have stuck with the tweezer design – and I’m dying to see if I can handle them because, from an intensity perspective, they’re pretty near the top of the tree when it comes to pressure. Just how intense will they be? Will they be too much? Will I back out?
The packaging …
Lizzie
Ye gads. This is tacky sex toy packaging at its best. A woman sitting on the bonnet of what I can only assume is a police car and wearing nothing but a fake policeman’s hat and the Squeezer Teaser clamps on her extremely large nipples. Oh, and sporting the obligatory heavily deforested pubic area. The bit that has me in stitches, though? The hilarious ‘crime tape’ graphic emblazoned across the lower half of her body with the words ‘excitement area’. Continue reading
My Liege of Dark Haven – Cherise Sinclair
Title: My Liege of Dark Haven
Author: Cherise Sinclair
Publisher: Loose Id LLC (August 26, 2012)
ISBN: 978-1-61118-978-0
Cherise Sinclair, how much do I love My Liege? Let me count the ways.
I love the depth and breadth of His character.
I love His outward poise and inner grace.
I love His calm, His confidence.
I love His humility.
I love His stoicism.
I love the way He expresses himself.
I love that He questions himself.
I love His naturalness.
But most of all, I love His dominance.
Oh, my goodness. If I had the ability to will a fictional character into existence, I would be doing my utmost to bring Xavier Leduc (a.k.a ‘My Leige’) to life. He strides about the pages of My Liege of Dark Haven, dominating the characters in the story – the heroine, Abigail Bern, in particular – and the reader like the most wonderfully dark maestro. He is absolutely – wonderfully – consuming.
I realise that I’ve only recently posted a review for one of Cherise Sinclair’s other books (Breaking Free from the Club Shadowlands/Masters of the Shadowlands series) but I’ve been waiting for My Leige’s story for the past few months and it – He – is just too good not to talk about immediately. Master Xavier waits for no one.
So what’s My Liege of Dark Haven about, then? Let me tell you, dear reader, let me tell you … Continue reading
